Description
The Historical Society of Early American Decoration (HSEAD) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the study and reproduction of American decorative practices of mostly the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. HSEAD was founded in 1946 and is chartered in the State of New York. We hold workshop meetings twice a year, and at one of the two meetings our members can submit their work for judging and exhibition. These exhibitions also feature original works from members' collections.
At the workshop meetings we hold classes in various aspects of early American decorative techniques.
We also have member/teachers who give classes in the techniques.
